Seoul Outdoor Library Open Until Oct 29th 2022! Time To Go Outdoor!

In this article, I will share to you information about the outdoor library that you can enjoy until fall season this year. If you are a booknerd who love to read and also outdoor lovers, then this might be for you. Let’s dive right into this beautiful Seoul Outdoor Library.

Seoul Outdoor library is, as it name suggest, an open space, outdoor library where you can read as you picnic in the midst of the city, to be exact, in front of the city hall and Seoul Metropolitan library. This is really good because this location is easy to navigate.

This library is an event that will last until October 29th this year, with main focus is to light up the study spirit within each seoulites and make study feels enjoyable.

You can choose up to thousands books that was provided by seoul government. However, you are welcome and allowed to bring your own book that you love to this event.

While most of you might think that this event might burn people during the day, Seoul government provided parasols to help reduce the heat so you can still enjoy reading your favourite book outside.

More than that, the government provided some bean bag for seating areas for those who don’t like to sit or lay on the ground.

Books talks & exhibitions

There’s a station where exhibitions are held, by which various author will be invited every single month to start a discussion about their books with the readers, outdoor, live in the public areas.

The very first author who open this exhibitions is Lee Suzy, a great korean illustrator that got Hans Christian Andersen Award.

This events is one of the largest outdoor events that was held in the past two years, since pandemic seasons, as during the pandemic eras, most of large event was cancelled.

There’s a free musical performance held during the event, which enliven the event.

Seoul outdoor library open every weekend, from Friday to Saturday at 11.00 – 16.00, with around 2 thousand attendees. However, do note that during monsoon season in July and August, the event will be temporarily closed.
