Descendants of the Sun, better known as DOTS, is a 2016 hit drama which resulted in their real relationship as a couple a year later. However, the broke up real soon after that, so sad, yet real life is not as drama life. 

This is a story about Yoo Si-jin, as a captain of the special forces, and a doctor, Kang Mo-yeon, that being on the same overseas peacekeeping mission.

Hotel Del Luna (previously known as guest house of the moon) is a story about supernatural place, the hotel is not visible in its true form during the daytime as humans can only come across the hotel under special circumstances.

Its staff and clients are all souls / ghosts coming to terms with unfinished business in their former lives before they pass on to the afterlife and cycle of reincarnation. The staff in particular have been there for decades and even centuries as they have not settled their grudges.

The exception to this is the hotel general manager, which has been filled by a succession of human “passersby” since they need to interact normally with the real world in instances like paying bills or fulfilling ghosts’ requests with still-living relatives/friends.

Ghosts can see other ghosts and humans, however only a select few humans such as the Guest House of the Moon manager can see ghosts. Through this story, we are all learning the secret about how it all started.

3. Crash Landing On you 사랑의 불시착

Crash Landing on You is about Yoon Se-ri (Son Ye-jin), who is a South Korean successful entrepreneur and a chaebol heiress. One day, while paragliding in Seoul, a tornado blows her off course. As a result, she crash-lands into the North Korean portion of the DMZ. Ri Jeong-hyeok (Hyun Bin) is a member of the North Korean elite and a captain in the Korean People’s Army. As he is patrolling, he meets Se-ri and saves her. Having decided to help her go back to the South, he hides her from other North Koreans, especially Cho Cheol-gang (Oh Man-seok) who is out to expose him. As they spend time together, they fall in love.

Kim Shin (Gong Yoo), a decorated military general from the Goryeo Dynasty, is framed as a traitor and killed by the young king. Years after his death, he is cursed by the Almighty to stay immortal forever, enduring the pain of seeing his loved ones die as punishment for the soldiers he killed to protect his country. He becomes an immortal goblin, helping people with his powers and being a kind man in spite of his grieving past. The only way to put an end to his immortality is the Goblin’s bride, whose aid in pulling out the sword will end his painful immortality.

Ji Eun-tak (Kim Go-eun) is a bubbly high school student who remains cheerful and hopeful despite her tragic life. She summons the Goblin by chance and their fates begin to entwine. The Goblin’s nephew, Yoo Deok-hwa (Yook Sung-jae), leases the Goblin’s house to a Grim Reaper (Lee Dong-wook) and the two end up living under the same roof. Ji Eun-tak starts working a part-time job at a chicken store run by a charismatic young woman, Sunny (Yoo In-na).

As the lives of Kim Shin, Grim Reaper, Ji Eun-tak and Sunny interweave, a deeper story unfolds, as they are not just strangers who met by chance, but people with deep-rooted relations.

7. Itaewon Class 이태원 클라쓰

Itaewon Class is a 2020 South Korean television series starring Park Seo-joon, Kim Da-mi, Yoo Jae-myung and Kwon Nara. 

On the first day of attending his new high school, Park Sae Ro Yi punches his classmate Jang Geun Won, who was bullying another classmate. The bully is the son of CEO Jang Dae Hee. The bully’s father runs restaurant business Jagga where Sae Ro Yi’s own father works. 

CEO Jang Dae Hee demands to Sae Ro Yi that he apologizes to his son, but Sae Ro Yi refuses. Because of his refusal, he gets expelled from school and his father gets fired from his job. Soon, an accident takes place. Sae Ro Yi’s father dies in a motorcycle accident caused by his ex-classmate Jang Geun Won. Burning with anger, Sae Ro Yi viciously beats Jang Geun Won. 

He is soon arrested and receives prison time for violent assault. Sae Ro Yi decides to destroy the Jagga company and take revenge upon CEO Jang Dae Hee and his son Jang Geun Won. Once Sae Ro Yi is released from prison, he opens a restaurant in Itaewon, Seoul. Jo Yi Seo, who is popular on social media, joins Sae Ro Yi’s restaurant and works there as a manager.
