Pandemic new cases stay above 1000 for the 2nd day, no signs of letup.
In this article we will share to you a little bad news about covid19 in South korea. As we learn today from Yonhap News that South Korea’s daily increasing covid19 new cases still stayed in the 1,200s. The country just added 1,202 COVID-19 new cases, with 1,152 local infections, which increase the total of 201,203, based on the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA).
Daily cases normally fall over the weekend and rise later in the week as more people get tested. The latest tally marked a decline from 1,442 cases Sunday and 1,219 cases Monday. The case has remained for almost 1 month since the first 1,000 case happened in July 7 due to the outbreak in the Seoul Areas with It’s peak of 1,842 happened on July 22. The death tolls of covid19 in south korea is 2,104 with the overall fatality rate is 1.04%.

Authorities warned the country and people that this fourth wave of the pandemic is still far from under control, seeing the increase amount of traveler during summer season and also the new variant of covid19 which we knew as Delta Covid19. Delta Covid19 is far more infectious than the previous one we knew.
This is why Seoul put a tight security and strict rules on human activities during this fourth wave, including ban on gathering of more than two people after 6 pm, which has never been imposed before. Some areas outside Seoul are currently under Level 3, which allows gatherings of up to four people in the evening, but some regional governments have adopted Level 4 distancing measures.

Authorities have been warning they could impose tougher measures should the number of daily cases continue to rise throughout this week. South korea has been focusing on vaccines, first for seniors and priority groups, and soon from Aug 26-30 will focusing for people aged 19-49, with the target of 18 million people, with overall aim to get up to 36 million people got single vaccination, or at least 70% of its population done by September.
Of the newly confirmed domestic cases, 307 were from Seoul, 344 from the surrounding Gyeonggi Province and 46 from the western port city of Incheon. The southeastern port city of Busan added 67 cases, and Daegu reported 37 new infections. The southern resort island of Jeju added 20 additional cases.
