On 25th September, Netflix Korea finally released a trailer for the highly anticipated Hellbound. Based on a popular webtoon, the upcoming Netflix series revolves around themes of the supernatural, horror, and mystery.

The trailer begins with Yoo Ah in’s voiceover saying “An angel appears and makes a prediction. They first mention the name of the person who hears the prophecy, followed by the time one will die. The person who dies will go to hell.”

Afterward, the scene moves to a man in a cafe. He looks concerned and worried, with his face full of sweat looking to the clock. First he look at the clock at 1:19, and keep moving to 1:20. As the clock strikes 1:20PM, suddenly disaster happened and three executors of hell break through the glass windows of the cafe to kill him.

Hellbound is actually inspired from a famous webtoon with the same name. It’s a story about a supernatural beings who takes people to hell. After the appearance of this beings, the whole nations become chaotic.
In the midst of it, a new religion ‘New Truth Society’ appeared and thrives. Meanwhile, some other are try to find out who is this hell beings and try to make sense of what is happening.

Yoo Ah in will act as Jung Jin soo, the protagonist chairman of ‘New Truth Society’. Park Jeong min as Bae Young jae, someone who struggles to protect his child from the executors of hell. Won Jin ah will act as Song So Hyun, the wife of Bae Young Jae.
On the other hand, Kim Hyun joo will act as Min Hye jin, a lawyer who fights against the New Truth Society. Yang Ik jun act as Jin Kyung hoon, a detective who investigates the New Truth Society to find out what they’re hiding.

Hellbound is the first korean series that was invited to the 46th TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) and BIFF. Hellbound also will be screened at the 65th BFI London Film Festival, which will be held from Oct. 6 to 17, according to Netflix on Thursday.

Hellbound will premiere on Netflix on November 19th. Since Squid game movie, we can see that Korean is not just good at romance story but also thrive to expand it’s wings to thriller genre and we glad that Netflix also done a great job in bringing a great thriller korean movie to the world.
