Hellbound Kdrama Review-Why It deserves to be the next Kdramas Hit!
In this article we will share to you the reviews of Hellbound Kdramas and why it deserves to be the next korean dramas hit after Squid games. Hellbound is a type of end time movie, where society suddenly thrown into chaos by a death angels to make sure God’s justice is served on the earth.
We can easily predict that as human finding the answer for all of this supernatural mess, there will be a religious organizations to explain what it’s all about, in this drama, it called The New Truth. The New Truth explain that there are many criminals that doesn’t repent, and some of them aren’t even get punishment for their sin, so God’s sent an executioners to make things right on earth.
Hellbound First Trailer
The trailer begins with Yoo Ah in’s voiceover saying “An angel appears and makes a prediction. They first mention the name of the person who hears the prophecy, followed by the time one will die. The person who dies will go to hell.”
Afterward, the scene moves to a man in a cafe. He looks concerned and worried, with his face full of sweat looking to the clock. First he look at the clock at 1:19, and keep moving to 1:20. As the clock strikes 1:20PM, suddenly disaster happened and three executors of hell break through the glass windows of the cafe to kill him.
The executors of hell in Hellbound korean drama is a strong dark giant gorilla that came from hell to kill the victim. This hell beings or gorilla have a mysterious power to grab their spirit, burn the whole body and left their skeleton of their victim.

Just like the trailer showed us earlier, this drama started with a scene in a cafe where a lot of students gathered around to study when one of them are watching a Cult Leader talk about angels, executors and people who are bound to hell in his laptop.
Afterwards, the camera start focusing on a single nervous guy who keep looking at the clock on his phone and his surroundings. It’s super clear that he’s worried about something serious. As expected, once the clock ticking, a black gorilla, monster or whatsoever you called it, burst through the glass facade and go after him.

The nervous guy try to escape his destiny and run away from this cafe, yet the merciless hell monster eventually got him, beat him down and burn him to hell, leaving only his skeleton left on the street.
New Truth leader Jung Jin-su

Afterwards we see that detectives Jin Kyeong-hoon and Eun-pyo start talking and looking after the New Truth Movement to learn more information about what is currently happening in this world.

Both of them eventually arrive at the location where the nervous guy at the cafe that we saw at the beginning of the drama, was killed. In this location, we see Jung Jin su comes real at the screen. Here, the leader of The New Truth, once again talking about angels, executioners, and God sending sinners to hell.

After listening to Jung Jin su’s sermon, both of the detectives approach him to talk about the creatures that just murder a man during the broad daylight. Jung’s in response think it’s funny to ask about God’s decision to sent people to hell as a murder.

Afterwards, the Detective spots his own daughter, Hee-jung is attended to The New Truth meetings, instead of attending her after-school class. The detective, his father, then ask her to go back home.

They eventually talk about many other things, the background of Jung, how he started the New Truth, and also find out that the cult leader Jung is actually staying in a goshiwon, a really cheap room rent usually for university students.

The scene then move on to a single mother that just came home after a long hours of work and having her children greet and congrats her for her birthday, before then a supernatural ghost, appeared as a smoke with a yellow lighted eyes and mouth decreeing her death 5 days later.
Her son films everything on his phone start from they celebrating their mother’s birthday until the supernatural beings comes up and decree her death 5 days later at 3pm.

The question arising is that this women seems like an ordinary good single mother who takes care of her children that also love her so much, why then she received death decree? Has she done something worth hell?

Netflix definitely put a lots of bucks into this project, from all of graphics editing, cinematic shots and also the story of the End times just as where we are living right now. In the midst of chaos, where prophets start arising and make a new movement.
Eventhough this movie is fantastical and fiction, it’s amazing how this kdramas just felt so real. it evokes our emotions of helplessness, right in the face of death that we can’t avoid.
