Gwangalli Beach (광안리 해수욕장)

Gwangalli Beach is no doubt on many foreigners mind when it comes to Busan, South Korea. Since the fame of lighted Gwangalli bridge at night, most visitors come to visit and see the beautiful light of this gwangalli bridge at night as well as the magnificent of this bridge during the daylight.

There is a lot of Hotels in which one of them are Hotel1 that is most famous to showcase this beautiful gwangalli beach and beautiful lighted gwangalli bridge at night. This beach is in a real competition with Haeundae in the minds of many visitors. However, you will realize that Gwangalli areas are actually more relax compare to haeundae areas.

However, you can reach this beach by using the same line of subway as you use to go to Haeundae, it’s only 6 subway stop different for these 2 areas. If you love to join some festival, then the best festival to join here is a fireworks festival during autumn season.

Take the subway line 2 to Geumnyeongsan station for the southern end of the beach, or Gwangan station (slightly longer walk) to the northern end of the beach.

Haeundae Beach

Haeundae is the most famous beach and top of mind in most people both locals as well as tourist when it comes to Busan. This beach have a really long curve of sands areas that can contain about 120 thousands visitors which is quiet normal during Summer seasons.

Other than a great beautiful beach, Haeundae is also a house for Buasn Aquarium, luxurious resorts, great cafes, museums, spas, art galleries and food market. Lots of expat from all over the world choose to live here compare to Seoul. Make sure you also visit nearby Dongbaekseom, Dalmaji Road and the Bay 101.

Songjeong Beach (송정해수욕장)

Songjeong beach is not a famous beach in Busan, however, this is a great place for family who doesn;t like to be in the crowd. This beach is located north of Haeundae, on the east coast of Busan areas. This beach is also having a really long curve sands areas like Haeundae, yet this one is not develop, so don’t compare the two. 

The white and red lighthouses of the harbor are a popular photo spot, as well as the view of the beach from Songiljeong Pavilion at the peak of Jukdo Park. Other things you can do here is that you can learn to surf in this areas.

Songdo is the third in popularity when it comes to most popular beach in Busan, South Korea, right next to Haeundae and Gwangalli. This beach is famous for it’s cable car activities where you can see the great and beautiful scenery from the eagle’s eye and also for it’s walkways.

Songdo beach itself is a good place to swim and popular among locals and visitors alike. There are public showers and a large water fountain roughly in the middle of it. Songdo is located at the southern end of the Janggun Peninsula in Amnam-dong, Seo-gu, where historic events took place.

From Jagalchi station exit 2, go left around the corner, cross the small street, then cross the large street to a bus stop where you catch bus 7, 26, 71, or 96 to Songdo Beach.

Dadaepo Beach (다대포해수욕장)

Dadaepo beach is located in the southwest of the city and made from Nakdonggang River that flows to this beach. Dadaepo beach is popular among locals, it’s much less crowded than the other popular beach in Busan, South Korea.

This place is really good for a weekend’s gateway from the hectic city and let your loved ones just feel free to play with the sands during the daylight and remember to enjoy the great Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dreams water at night, specifically at 8 PM.

Imnang Beach (임랑해수욕장입구)

Gijang is another great summer destination that located north of Busan. Imnang Beach is famous for its pine forest and the beautiful silver and blue waters at night. Compared with Haeundae Beach, Imnang Beach is a quiet oasis, perfect for travelers looking to just relax rather than see and do it all. 

Imnang beach has a relatively high waves that attracted many surfers to visit and surf here. Imnang, pronounced with a warm feel, originated from “im” and “rang” of the words “songnim” and “parang”. Visitors who come to the place for the first time will be astounded by the white sandy beach.

you can enjoy “Gijang Imnang Summer Music Festival” for free at the beach during summer seasons. Anyway, there are various amenities, including shower rooms, changing rooms, and various items available for rental in case you need it.  If you prefer to see the reflections of the night compare to the beautiful neonlights, then you want to visit this beach compare to the other.

There is a really famous cafe here where you can enjoy some coffee with friends while enjoying the great sunsets and beach views, namely Waveon Coffee, this is considered one of the must visit cafe in Busan areas.

Ilgwang Beach

Ilgwang Beach is one of Gijang’s Eight Sights. Ilgwang Beach is shallower than other beaches in Busan. The waves are quieter here as well, thus the beach is popular for families with young kids. In addition, it’s less crowded because the beach is located further from the downtown of Busan.

This beach is a popular for it’s white sandy beach, Gangsongjeong Pine Tree Forest and also banana boat activities if you like it. Other than that, with shallow waters and a clear view of the ocean, it’s famous for kids to plan in this beach. There is also Samseongdae Pavilion built during the late Joseon dynasty nearby.
